Life and Times, what's happening?

I can't believe that SNL started going live a few days ago! I was super excited for the new season... I guess I should've done some research before. Two of the women on the show have been replaced, Casey Wilson and Mikayla Watkins. Casey was good but didn't spend that much time on the air. Mikayla was amazing, she had great characters like Angie Tempura. I wish I knew what Lorne was thinking. It's crazy that he thought that Mikayla could use her talent on a sitcom and not on the show. I'm not sure if I agree with that. The only way that I will believe it is if he produces her sitcom. I read something about her going to 30 Rock which would be AWESOME! I think that she could add a lot to that show. It would be fun to see her opposite Tina Fey. Oh yeah, one of the new girl's that they got dropped the f-bomb on LIVE TV! I'm thinking that the sketch was bad as well as the performer. I'm not all too happy about this change of women on the show with Kristin Wiig still there.

On a side note, NMU Hockey has it's first home game, non-conference, on SIX days!!! I cannot wait for Hockey season! It is my relief from the theatre and I don't know what I would do without that release.

Life and Music

Thanks to Zach for getting me into this. I'm not sure if I'll keep up with this blog but I can try. Life and music is amazing, I love listening to music and I recently had such a bad day that I turned the radio off in my car. This is totally unheard of for me, not sure what's going on. I scanned through all of the stations and couldn't find anything that fit my mood so I just turned it off.
On a happier note, the US Olympic Speedskating trials were this past weekend and I attended every day. I managed to miss only one race, which there was a big crash in and I missed it completely! Damn the girl who was selling the t-shirts for taking so long! The last day during the 500m men's racing JR Celski, the next Apolo Ohno, fell and the tip of his right blade went into his left leg. Last I heard the cut was 6 inches long and 3 inches deep. He went straight to the hospital and got stitches. He went back to Salt Lake City today to meet with a doctor there and plans to be on a bike within a week. I really hope that he gets better and that I can see him skating at the Olympics, live or on tv.
Minor theatre rant: I just found out that the Winter Olympics are going on the same weeks as Rent and everything having to do with the show. I do not want to work on the show as much as everyone else at Northern and would prefer to go to the Olympics. I priced tickets for events and they aren't all that bad... I probably won't go because of costs, time, and missing school.
There's a lot of work to do in the theatre for as little as we're doing right now. The First Nighters Club is doing a Haunted House on the stage. It'll be really scary and a lot of work. We figure that we have about 2-3 weeks to get everything together. Also, we're doing a float for Homecoming, we'll see how that turns out and if we use pyro or not.
This is the end of the rant of theatre and the story of my life for the moment.
